3My Toddler Doesn't Like It  Sep 01, 2010
I bought this for my 19 month old son a few months ago and he's barely used it. He'll get on it and then almost immediately get off it. He's above average height and weight but his feet don't really reach the ground if he's sitting in the back so he ends up sliding to the front right behind the handle bars. Even there his feet keep hitting the back wheels when he tries to use it. Watching him use it he looks like he's walking with a really uncomfortable piece of plastic stuck between his legs. After he gets on it he'll walk around uncomfortably for maybe a minute, usually less, and then get off so he can move around faster and more comfortably without it. I don't think he sees the benefit of using it instead of just running around and frankly I don't either. It's too bad. I really liked the idea of it but this toy has gotten almost no use in our house. I'll pull it out again in a month or two and hope he starts to like it better.

From a parent's perspective, I like that it folds small for easy storage. But there's no use having a toy around, even a very compact one, if it never gets used.

5For very young toddlers  Aug 16, 2010
First it took a week to convince my son's father that this was a worthy purchase - but when it arrived I had a very hard time defending my arguments. For a two year old of average size and development this ride-on toy is not challenging enough, nor really big enough. My son's heels keep hitting the back wheel bars and he says "ouch, cut you!" rubbing his feet. The fact that there are only little girls on the box was pointed out to me by the irritated father... and one wonders if this toy is a bit delicate for boys past a certain age, 18-20 months by my guess. So while I stand by my belief that this is a wonderful development toy for young toddlers just starting to walk and run, for a ladder-climbing, hard-tricycling 2 year old it is a bit dull in the entertainment department and too cramped.

2Not functional to ride  Mar 21, 2010
The rear wheels get in the way of my childs feet and he can't push himself around. If you have a kid who actually wants to ride on a toy- don't get this one.
It is cute and my son likes to push it around while walking beside it.

5Fropper-riffic  Dec 29, 2009
Bought this for our son, and he absolutely adores it. He scoots all around the house and thrives on the independence (yes, he "fropped" before he walked). It folds up easily and packs small when we go to Grandma's house. This is one of his favorite toys. An absolute must have for parents.

5Like a frog to water  Nov 03, 2009
My 20 month old son sat on it and was gone in a flash. He loves it and learned to master it pretty quickly. Seems to be good exercise, too. We've tried 3 different "scooters"/ride-ons, and this one is by far the most practical to maneuver. His feet don't become snagged by tires or other elements. Great for indoors and out, even on carpet! Excellent for tight spaces due to its 0 turning radius. I agree that it might seem lightweight plastic, but I personally think it's made very well. We first saw one in a local toy store that had obviously been bruised, battered and well worn in (my son contributing to that), and it was working great (and continues to work great weeks later) as far as I could tell. We highly recommend it.

Update 5/10:
My son was with grandma on the sidewalks weaving through our neighborhood. He was scooting along and evidently hit a small acorn-like tree dropping (about the size of a small screw). The wheels seized up (think of when you're in the supermarket and your shopping cart runs into a piece of candy or a stray bean!) and over the front he went. BAM! Right on the chin. Nasty gash that luckily closed nicely and was treated with only glue by our Pediatrician. Lesson: use extreme caution on surfaces with debris, etc. due to the small size of the wheels. We only use it on the back porch/sidewalk in our yard or in the house. He still loves it 7 months later, and we're still big fans, though.
